Uniform
The wearing of school uniform is compulsory at St James Lutheran College.  The uniform is only available through the College Uniform Shop.  Parents are requested to buy the correct size for their child, so the uniform can be correctly worn and appear smart at all times. Parents are asked to name all items of clothing.


Uniform Shop
The Uniform Shop is only open at certain times during the school week. Times are advertised in the newsletter and in the office.  Appointments should be made to fit students with complete uniforms.  Families & students wishing to acquire uniform items outside Uniform Shop opening hours may fill out a request slip at the front office.  Office staff will endeavour to fill these orders when time allows.

Uniform Guidelines

The wearing of school uniform is compulsory at St James Lutheran College.  The uniform is only available through the College Uniform Shop.  Parents are requested to buy the correct size for their child, so the uniform can be correctly worn and appear smart at all times e.g. boys’ shorts and girls’ skirts are to be worn on the waist, and girls’ skirt length (Middle and Senior School) is to be on the knee.  Parents are asked to name all items of clothing.


GENERAL GUIDELINES

Wearing Uniform Outside of the College  
When appearing in public, and on the way to and from school, it is expected that students will wear their uniform with pride, including the correct shoes and hat

Hair/ Nails/Makeup
•    Hair is to be neat and tidy.         
•    Hair is to be the student’s natural colour.
•    Hair below the collar is to be tied.
•    Hair bands and clips are to be navy, dark green, gold, white or black.
•    Fingernail polish is not allowed.
•    Makeup is not allowed.

Jewellery
Wearing of jewellery is to be limited to a watch, small cross and signet ring. Earrings are to be limited to one per ear and worn in the lower ear lobe. Earrings must be plain gold or silver studs or small sleepers.  No other visible body piercings are allowed. 

Sunglasses
Students are encouraged to wear sunglasses. These are to be plain and unobtrusive, and not detract from the College uniform.

Casual Clothes Day Expectations
Students who choose to participate in casual clothes days must adhere to the following guidelines:
•    smart casual clothes are to be worn that enable the student to participate in all usual curriculum activities.
•    covered/closed footwear to be worn; no thongs or slip on shoes (toe and heel to be enclosed).
•    no midriff, singlet or ‘strap’ tops.
•    no inappropriate words, pictures or slogans on clothing.
•    no revealing necklines.
•    no ‘short’ shorts or mini skirts – length to be that of usual ‘skorts’ or school shorts.
•    normal requirements for hair, jewellery and makeup.
•    wide brim hat to be worn when out of the classroom.

 

JUNIOR SCHOOL UNIFORM (Prep-Yr 6)

Boys

Shirt  - Teal/navy polo shirt with logo printed on front & collar printed with
St James Lutheran College.
Shorts - Navy blue.

Girls

Shirt  - Teal/navy polo shirt with logo printed on front & collar printed with
St James Lutheran College.
Skort  - Navy blue.

Boys & Girls

Socks  -  White with navy & teal trim.
Shoes  -  Plain black, lace-up, closed in, leather school shoe or plain black leather joggers. (Canvas shoes, sandals or boots are not acceptable.)
Hat  - Navy blue, brimmed hat with school logo or navy blue bucket hat with school logo.

 

Winter - Boys & Girls (Optional)

Track Suit  -  Navy micro-fibre jacket with teal trim and St James logo with navy micro-fibre pants; or navy polar fleece jacket with St James logo with plain navy fleecy track pants; or V-neck sweater with the St James logo and matching track pants (Prep-Yr 2 only).
Jumper  -  Navy micro-fibre jacket with teal trim and St James logo or navy polar fleece jacket with St James logo.
Pants  -  College navy track pants.
Shirt   -  Long sleeve polo shirt with logo printed on front & collar printed with St James Lutheran College.

 

SCHOOL UNIFORM (Yr 7-12)

Boys

Shirt  -  Yr 7-9 – boy’s shirt in green and blue stripes with navy interfacing on collar.
Yr 10-12 – boy’s shirt in green and blue stripes with plain white collar.
Shorts  -  Navy shorts with expandable waist-band or long navy trousers. 
Plain black or navy belt (optional).
Jacket  -  Navy micro-fibre jacket with teal green stripe and school logo.
Socks  -  White socks (meds) with teal and navy trim with shorts or navy socks with long trousers.
Shoes   -  Black lace-up, closed in, leather dress shoe - not sport shoe.

Girls

Shirt   - Yr 7-9 – girl’s shirt in green and blue stripes with navy cross-tie.
Yr 10-12 – girl’s shirt in green and blue stripes with plain white collar with navy cross-tie.
Skirt  -  Girls’ navy skirt pleated from the hips or culottes or navy slacks.  
Jacket  -  Navy track-suit jacket with teal green stripe and school logo.
Socks - White socks (meds) with teal and navy trim or navy tights with the skirt or navy socks with the slacks.    
Shoes  - Black lace-up, closed in, leather dress shoe - not sport shoe. 


Sports Uniform - Boys and Girls    

Shirt  -  Yr 7-9 - navy graded through blue and green to white on the shoulders, with school logo on the front and school name in navy across the back. 
Yr 10-12 - white graded through green and blue to navy on the shoulders with school logo on front and school name on the back.
Shorts  -  Navy mesh fabric.
Shoes  -  Predominantly white sports shoes (canvas not permissible).
Socks  -   White socks (meds) with teal and navy trim.
Winter   -  Navy micro-fibre jacket with teal green stripe and school logo. 
                   Navy micro-fibre track pants (optional).

Hat – Boys and Girls    

Formal  - Navy brimmed hat with school logo. 
Sports  -  Bucket hat, navy with school logo. 

 

 

All students P-12 - Wet Weather     

Students should carry a raincoat (preferably navy) at all times.  An umbrella may also be carried for particularly wet days.
